Just 1% of C-level employees are Latina? Why work can't come first anymore.

Did you know that Latinas hold just ONE PERCENT of C-suite jobs in the US? It’s a shameful number but it also leaves me with so many questions. WHO are the Latinas in these jobs? Are they women of color? Are they from the Ivy league? Do they come from money? How did they get there?

But my biggest question is WHY Latinas aren’t making more noise about this in the media. My theory? We are afraid to support each other. With odds are bad as they are for success in corporate America, only the truly altruistic will make noise and room at the top.

I don’t believe corporate feminism will save us. That’s a neoliberal fantasy that only serves those who are already privileged and those begging to be accepted. True representation comes when we stop crushing each other for a singular spot at the top.
